Original post: Samsung is currently rolling out Android 9.0 Pie for the the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Following the first beta build CRI5, we now have the second Beta available for download with firmware build numbers G960USQU3CRI7 & G965USQU3CRI7 for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus respectively. This new OTA update brings many new bug fixes and working features. Most importantly, it brings a solution to the ugly looking white UI content with black background. So download and install the latest Samsung Experience 10 Beta 2 (CRI7) based on Android 9.0 Pie for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.

This new update brings a solution to the ugly looking notifications UI. The notification color along with the quick settings panel now adapts to the wallpaper color you have set. This makes the UI look more pleasing. Another stunning feature is that the Night Mode works. The settings UI along with other components now turn dark with a black background.

Here is a video featuring the new working features that come with Samsung One UI:

Samsung Experience 10 features all the Android Pie goodies such as Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, Slice, Actions, new swipe gestures like the Google Pixel phones, and much more. Though Samsung has its own gesture controls called Edge Gestures introduced with Good Lock 2018‘s plugin called One Hand Operations +, a native swipe gesture is an added bonus. Most importantly when it comes to the overview mode (formerly known as recent apps panel). You can select any kind of text in the overview mode.

Note that Samsung Experience 10 is currently in testing state, meaning you will most certainly encounter bugs. Moreover, the firmware is only available for United States region with Snapdragon variants of Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U/U1) and S9 Plus (SM-G965U/U1).

Android Pie-based One UI for Galaxy A7 (2018) with model number SM-A750FN is now available for download. The instructions in this post will help you install Samsung Galaxy A7 Android Pie update right now.

In the past few weeks, Samsung has really picked up a decent pace when it comes to software updates. After the flagship lineup, many of its mid-range smartphones including the Galaxy A8 Plus and Galaxy A9 have received Android Pie update with One UI. Even the Galaxy A6 and A7 made their way to the Pie beta program.

Surprisingly, the beta program didn’t take long and Samsung is now rolling out Galaxy A7 Android Pie update for the users in Russia. It is being pushed to the users over-the-air and comes with A750FNPUU1BSC4 software version. It seems like the update will be limited to a single market, just like it was done for the rest of the mid-range A series. To force-check for the OTA, you can go to the device Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

If you’re not in Russia, you might not be able to download the OTA yet. In that case, you can upgrade your phone manually. Since the Pie firmware is now available, you can use it to install Samsung Galaxy A7 Android Pie-based One UI update right now.

But before you get to the instructions, let us take a quick look at the changes and new features that this update brings to the device.

Android Pie-based One UI for Samsung Galaxy A7 – Changelog

The Galaxy A7 (2018) came with Android 8.0 Oreo and is now directly making the jump to Android Pie, which is huge in itself. The new Android version brings a lot of new features to the phone. This includes the new gesture-based navigation and features like Adaptive Battery and Brightness. The latter takes advantage of Machine Learning technology to provide a unique experience to every user based on their usage. App Actions is another small, yet very useful part of the UI. For the full list of Android Pie features, you can also visit the official website.

And now comes the part that should get you more excited. That’s Samsung’s new One UI software suite that completely revamps the phone’s software, giving it a fresh new feel and an overall better user experience.

The complete interface has been given a facelift, that not only looks pleasing to the eyes but also gets rid of the clutter. With the new focus blocks and colors, you can focus more on the tasks at hand. Samsung has also significantly improved one-handed usage, considering how long the modern day mobile displays are. Almost all major sections of the software including the stock apps, now have two sections. The upper half section is for viewing the content and information, while the lower half for interactions. So, you wouldn’t need to force your thumb all the way to the top of the display.

Another anticipated feature of One UI is the new system-wide Night Mode that aims at providing a more comfortable viewing experience in dark surroundings. Once the feature is activated, it automatically adjusts the display contrast and brightness so that users don’t feel eye strain.

The UI now offers new icons and colors, that we told you earlier about. This makes the complete OS fresher and somewhat in-line with Google’s new Material Design.
